Luc Alvarado is back in Brooklyn, NY.
Luc Alvarado is equal parts researcher, educator, and fervent learner. Presently in contracts with out-of-school and international, online learning platform Synthesis School as well as New York City-based, teen makerspace community Beam Center, Luc loves to facilitate learning. They earned an interdisciplinary degree in Urban Studies with a minor in Computer Science at Fordham University and have continued to pursue higher education while at the University of New Mexico in multicultural research methods, neuroanatomy, and studio art.
Luc has contributed to a wide-range of research projects ranging from water policy research in partnership with the Cherokee Nation at the University of Arkansas to infant visual perception studies in the Baby Lab at the University of Kansas. They continue to study relevant advances in community psychology and to bring their learnings from across disciplines to every project.
While living in New York, Luc previously worked as a data scientist for more than 8 years and continues to leverage computational methods and statistical programming in their research. With a data career starting with publishing nonprofit Sesame Workshop and culminating at transportation tech giant Lyft, Luc brings cross-industry best practices to every endeavor.
Research interests include remote learning, community-based solutions, intergenerational contexts, and group dynamics.
